Throughout the week, he beat Billy Stairmand of New Zealand, South Africa, Brandon Jackson, Junior Faria of Brazil, and major world tour talents Josh Kerr, Jordy Smith Keiren Perrow and to get to the final where he spoke of Florence from 11.84 to 8.03.
In a slower semi-final, he found the round to beat defending champion Jordy Smith. Although it has obtained through previous rounds of hollow waves, Gudauskas was able to change its approach to the master cylinder to man the rail in the final.
"It's crazy! I'm so excited right now. This is certainly the best event I have ever attended and perhaps the best I have ever seen. It was perfect for a week and we are all excited to be in Ballito, "he said after the victory.
This is the fourth win of his career ASP after Ferrolterra Pantin Classic in Spain, the Vendee Surf Pro in France, and the Sebastian Inlet Pro in Florida. It was his first victory on the first and had a special meaning, as he chaired the brother Tanner to the beach at this event two years ago. Incidentally, Andy and Bruce Irons also claimed titles here in 2004 and 2005.
