His wife Patti graciously went along for the ride financial, sacrificing money that could be used to build an addition on the house and instead of investing in a better future for baseball in Brandon and their eldest son, Bryce, who played outfielders for Nebraska and was a teammate Joba Chamberlain on the Cornhuskers' team of the College World Series in 2005.
"That's the way it is supposed to be, the barn is supposed to be bigger than the house," said Ron. "It is already paid.
